Abstract

Organizations worldwide realize the value of creating and sustaining a resilient workforce as employees have been battered with physical, social, and psychological pressures due to the unexpected and challenging demands of pandemic. This chapter revolves around training, upskilling, and reskilling in organizations and establishes their relationship with building resilience in employees. It is significantly relevant and timely as work relationships and expectations have suddenly changed across sectors and industries. It is imperative to include scenarios gathered from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), hence a case study of EFS Facilities Services Group using primary and secondary data has been added. This case is a direct evidence of building resilience in workforce with the help of upskilling and reskilling. This chapter will inform of practices adopted for building resilience among workforce at a global level. Conclusions and recommendations inform about different interventions that organizations can adopt in order to build a resilient workforce.
